The Olympus OM-D E-M1X
Recently I had the opportunity to try out the Olympus OM-D E-M1X which is a micro 4/3 camera.
I have never used an Olympus product before, so this was a great chance to try something completely new. Overall the OM-D E-M1X is a very nice camera and the quality of the images are as expected for a $3,000 camera. It only comes in at 20MP which is pretty low for a camera of that price. The Nikon D850 for example offers 45.7MP.
Im not going into much more detail on this camera but I will share one thing I like and dislike about it.
Pro: The face tracking on this camera is very good and I was able to consistently capture sharp in focus images.
Con: The electronic viewfinder is a major downfall for this camera. The quality is horrible and does not give an accurate image of what your shot will look like.
Will I buy this camera? No. One reason is that there are better cameras out there for the same price or cheaper. The second reason is because all my lenses are Nikon mounts and I don’t see myself changing over to another brand anytime soon. As I said, overall this is a good camera and it will give you high quality photos, but unless you are an existing Olympus shooter, I would recommend sticking with your current brand (Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc.)
Here are some more photos I took with it.
